Turning 2!

Time is sometimes in slow mo and sometimes in fast forward. There are some things in our lives we can’t wait to happen and some things we’re just, “Please, let this moment last forever.”

My lovely Desmond is turning 2 years old tomorrow and I can’t believe how fast it has gone by. He is changing everyday but still the same loving little cuddle bug since birth. One thing I am truly proud of is that all of his babysitters and nursery teachers report to me that, he is such a cuddler and an easy baby. Even if he’s using his special acting skills to get my attention, he is still such an easy boy.

My little guy who was born 2 pounds and 4 ounces is now heavy enough to start giving me back problems. Ha!

I look back on our roller coaster journey, and all I can think about is how grateful I am for our friends and family that have helped us from the very beginning. To my mom in-law who stayed with us at the hospital; all the amazing friends who helped us move into our apartment; Desmond’s amazing therapists; and of course to all the people who gave us love, care and outpouring of grace towards our rough beginnings as new parents.

Des, mama and papa love you so much. No matter what other people say, you will always be the most amazing miracle boy we know. You are a gracious defender and our little warrior.  Thank you for making us smile when we’re grumpy. Thank you for your morning kisses and hope you’ll keep kissing us until we get all wrinkly and old. I love it when when you hold my face in your hands and wait for me to kiss you.
