Still Chugging Along

It’s been a while since I sat down to write a post. After that night of crying things have picked up for the better. Like it always does. I believe we all have our moments of low and there’s always a way up. There’s always a way out and always a way to look at things differently.

What I wanted to share with you guys is a video of Des. I’ve been on a look out for a really good walker for Des. Something stable and sturdy. We found one but it took a while for him to build up the confidence to walk. First we held his hands while using the walker and if we let go he’ll stop and kneel down. It came to a point where if it was me, grandma or Amanda (his Physical Therapist) would help him, he wouldn’t want to go near the walker. It scared it.

The complete turn around was when daddy helped him on it and let go. It was such a great sight to see. It happened at home and Nick was told me, “Babe! He’s doing it all by himself!” I was surprised and tears almost came down.

The video below was shot at Camano Island. The 2nd day of walking with his walker all by himself with no help. What a joy!
