4th of July Highlights
I’m trying to catch up on posts. This one is a month late. Hopefully I’ll catch up before summer ends.
4th of July is a big deal on Camano Island because there’s a little parade for the kiddos. Everyone’s wearing red white and blue, the American flag is displayed everywhere and on everything. The kids on the bikes wearing the American colors and the adults ooing and ahhhing over the cuteness that is the kids.
This year, the neighborhood was able to borrow a fire truck. A very old fire truck with a high speed of 35mph. Grandpa Hayes drove the truck while Nick hung out at the back with the rest of the kids who wanted a ride.
Des and I were on the parade and everyone loved his little tricycle. He also got his first taste of ice cream…without the ice cream. HAHA!
It was also nice because our friend Amanda was able to join us for the weekend. It’s always great to have friends and family together.
